It is hard to believe that this trendy Australian home was recently converted from a bluestone church built in 1889. I love the new contemporary feeling that was achieved while still keeping some of the best churchlike aspects such as the original doors and clerestory windows.

Pool House Paradise
This pool house designed by architects Hariri & Hariri is a prime example of contemporary simplicity creating a perfect outdoor escape. The Brazilian Walnut magically creates nautical, warm, and minimalist feelings simultaneously, making it a true feat of modern architecture.

Classic Zebra
It seems every time I turn around lately, I’ve been spotting zebra. There is no denying that animal prints have been hugely popular lately, but none have been more visible than zebra. I love that it can be used in all styles of homes, from traditional to modern, proving its widespread and longstanding appeal.

The Blues
Deep blue isn’t usually the first color that comes to my mind for walls, however the images below are great examples of the job done right. The color adds an instant amount of regal richness to these rooms that you just won’t find in your basic beige.

Designer Home Feature

Famed designer Susan Hornbeak-Ortiz’s California residence is no different as she mentioned in an interview, “This house is very much my laboratory for how my designs look”. Light concrete floors combined with dark beams and pops of bold color keep the home feeling crisp, alive and fresh.

The Straight and Narrow
This Barcelona home has certainly secured its spot as the thinnest house in town, spanning only 12 feet in width! It is hard to imagine creating an efficient living environment in such a slendor space, but apparently it can be done and it can be done with style! Glass partitions help physically divide the space where necessary without making it appear any narrower than it already is.
