Mid-Century Christmas

Here are some photos that reinvent holiday decoration, incorporating a modern edge with a mid century aesthetic.
In this photo simply hanging different shapes and colors together in an ornamental cluster brightens up this space.

Hand painted, vintage ornaments add a bit of nostalgia to a Christmas tree, and can easily be found on sites like Etsy or Ebay.

The Eames Paper Collection. Neenah Paper in collaboration with the Eames office, created a beautiful collection that can be ordered on their website.

Window Wonderland

Barneys New York teamed up with the Food Network, the Cooking Channel and Illy to deck their Madison Avenue windows in a "Have a Foodie Holiday!" Theme. A paper mache Mario Batali head sits on a platter, while a mannequin wearing a dress made of foil coffee bags and disposable cups sports an Illy espresso machine as a headdress.
David Hoey and the Bergdorf Goodman visual department created windows featuring five fairy tale inspired modes of transportation including a winged Pegasus.
Henri Bendel partnered with the New York City Ballet to turn George Balanchine's The Nutcracker into a series of holiday vignettes.
Lord & Taylor asked customers to share their favorite holiday memories, which inspired the store's 12 animated Christmas scenes set in New York City.
Tory Burch collaborated with artist Timothy Paul Myers to create unique holiday installations made of pegs from the much loved toy, Lite Brite. Inspired by a photograph of a reindeer and the colors of Tory Burch's holiday collection, Myers used more than 2 million pegs to create 46 light displays for the brand.
